Every Boopos workshop starts with a professionally designed Boopos Blank and one very important question: Who is this thing going to become?
With guidance from Boopos creator and professional puppet builder Sam Carter, participants transform their blank into an original puppet character using creative materials, puppet-building techniques and their own imagination.
No puppet-making experience is required. The working puppet foundation gives you a head start so you can spend your workshop creating the character instead of engineering a puppet from scratch.

Private and corporate Boopos workshops are priced individually based on your group size, workshop format, location, materials, and event needs. Tell us a little about your group and budget, and we’ll work with you to determine what’s possible and create an experience that fits your event. Every proposal includes clear pricing before you commit.

If you have a target budget or per-person budget, include it in your inquiry. Sam will consider your group size, location, materials, and workshop goals and let you know what Boopos can realistically offer within that range. If your original idea isn’t the right fit for the budget, we may be able to suggest a different workshop format. Generally Boopos Blank puppets are $180 per blank puppet.

Sam Carter is the founder and creator of Boopos Blanks and a veteran Atlanta film artist whose work has helped bring some of Hollywood’s most imaginative worlds to life.
Over the past 20 years, Sam has built a career as an artistic jack-of-all-trades, working across practical special effects, fabrication, props, puppetry, and set decoration.
His film and television credits include working as a special effects technician on Stranger Things, where he helped create the practical effects of the Upside Down, and as a set dresser on Marvel’s Black Panther, where his work included building sci-fi experiments for Shuri’s laboratory. His extensive film and television career also includes productions such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Doctor Sleep, Jumanji: The Next Level, The Hunger Games, Coming 2 America, and more.
Outside of film and television, Sam has partnered with numerous arts organizations to produce large scale public artworks and events.
Sam brings that same professional craftsmanship, playful imagination, and love of making things by hand to Boopos Blanks. Boopos Blank Puppets are a generic customizable puppet base named for his nicknames for his daughters “Boo” and “Pose”.
Sam hopes that Boopos gives people the tools needed to turn an idea in their head into a one-of-a-kind puppet character they can actually hold in their hands.
